SSD hard drives, USB memory and phones can have their nand chips removed and read in sequence so their data can be rebuilt and recovered. Head failures on hard drives can have donor head stacks installed to help recover lost data.

  • We use industry standard data recovery tools: DeepSpar, Logicube, Tableau and twenty six years of knowledge.

  • Phones that have been water damaged or physically corrupted can be recovered using nandoff technology.

  • We offer a free initial analysis to see how much data is recoverable on any media. All quotes that we give are for recoverable data and we only charge when the data is recovered. Quotes and recoveries can usually be carried out within a twenty four to forty eight hour period.

  • Any hard drive that requires the clean room may take a day or two longer to diagnose.

A DoD wipe is a secure method for erasing data on a hard drive using the DoD 5220.22-M algorithm: 

  • Passes: The DoD wipe involves overwriting all addressable locations on a hard drive with binary patterns:

    • Pass 1: Overwrite with binary zeroes

    • Pass 2: Overwrite with binary ones

    • Pass 3: Overwrite with a random bit pattern

    • Pass 4: Overwrite with binary zeroes

    • Pass 5: Overwrite with binary zeroes

    • Pass 6: Overwrite with binary ones

    • Pass 7: Overwrite with a random bit pattern

  • Verification: The final overwrite pass is verified

The DoD wipe is used by government organizations to ensure that data is completely eliminated. It's a secure method that makes data unrecoverable through standard recovery methods. 

You can perform a DoD wipe using professional data erasure software, such as: BitRaser Drive Eraser and BitRaser Mobile Eraser & Diagnostics. 

However, the DoD wipe is not recommended for SSDs because it uses a three-pass overwrite method that reduces the lifespan of SSDs. The National Institute of Standards and Technology (.gov) has established that a single pass overwrite is enough for permanent data erasure.
